Special anniversary is celebrated at Citadel

A special event was held in Lowestoft to mark more than 130 years of a popular service.
The Salvation Army Lowestoft Citadel celebrated 134 years with an anniversary event at the weekend.
The deputy mayor of Lowestoft, Peter Knight, attended the strawberry cream tea event on Sunday to celebrate 134 years of Salvation Army service in Lowestoft.
Joined by his wife, deputy mayoress Marina Knight, they were pictured with Lieutenant Adrian Allan, the leader of Lowestoft Citadel.
During the Sunday morning worship meeting, which was led by the Salvation Army’s Anglia divisional leaders – Major’s Derek and Susan Jones – at the weekend, Major Christine Campbell was commissioned as the new bandmaster of the Lowestoft Citadel Band.
Musicians Gordon Evans and his daughter Louise were also commissioned into the band.
