Santa’s sleigh has become a familiar annual sight in the weeks before Christmas, parked at supermarkets and shopping centres around town and this year will be no different.
Lowestoft Lions will again be bringing Father Christmas on his traditional transport complete with reindeer figures and elves to meet shoppers and to listen to children’s Christmas gift wishes.
During December, in the weeks leading up to Christmas, Santa and his illuminated sleigh will visit many of the supermarkets in Lowestoft, mingling with shoppers, playing a wide selection of Christmas music, handing out sweets to the children and collecting donations for the club’s charitable fund.
Lions president Robin Smith said, “The sleigh attracts a lot of attention from shoppers and the reaction on their children’s faces is a delight to see.
“We will use monies raised from the sleigh collections to bring a bit of joy to a number of deserving people at Christmas.”
Santa Claus’ sleigh can be seen visiting the following locations: B&M Tower Road on December 10, ASDA on December 11, December 13 to 15 at the Cooperative Foodstore Ashburnham Way in Carlton Colville, December 16 to 18 at Tesco Parkhill Lowestoft, December 19 to 21 at Morrison’s North Quay and between December 22 and 24 at Morrisons, Tower Road, Gisleham.
