A film shot extensively around the Norfolk and Suffolk coast with two up-and-coming movie stars is to get its regional premiere tomorrow.

The Scouting Book for Boys will be shown at Great Yarmouth's Hollywood Cinema as a thank-you to staff at the Broadland Sands Holiday Park at Corton, near Lowestoft, where large chunks of the film were shot.

Released nationally on March 19, the film is about best friends David and Emily who live a carefree existence on a caravan park.

Starring Thomas Turgoose, of This is England fame, and Holliday Grainger, who starred in the film Awaydays, The Scouting Book for Boys takes a dark turn when Emily is forced to run away and live in a cave on a remote beach as police search for her.

In September 2008 the EDP reported how Thomas, then aged 16, and 70 local people as extras filmed scenes of a search party trying to find Emily along Holkham Bay.

And for six weeks the cast and crew camped out in the Broadland Sands Holiday Park which was used for large parts of the fictional caravan park and saw staff and holiday- makers feature as extras. Scenes were also shot in Hunstanton, Beeston Regis, Trimingham, Gorleston police station, Kessingland Beach Holiday Park and Yarmouth's South Denes area.

Tomorrow, the film's director Tom Harper and producer Ivana MacKinnon will join staff from Broadland Sands who starred in the movie or helped its production at a private showing at the Hollywood Cinema at 3pm.

Afterwards a post-premiere party will be held at Broadland Sands.

The manager of Broadland Sands, Stephen Ames, said it was an eye-opener to see how the film was made at the park - especially as the crew shot the film's last scenes first.

He joked: "I did not appear as an extra because they could not afford me."

Ms MacKinnon, the film's producer for Cloud Eight Films, said: "Landscape plays a huge role in The Scouting Book for Boys.

"The caravan park our two teenage leads live on needed to feel like an intimate world that for them is filled with beauty and magic, and we wanted the countryside they escape into to be epic and stunning.

"I've come on holidays to this area since I was a young child, so I was overjoyed to be filming in places like Holkham and Trimingham that meant so much to my childhood.

"It's very exciting to be bringing the film up here to show to the people who were so welcoming to us on Broadland Sands Holiday Park."
