Scream Serenity, who hail from the same easterly town as The Darkness, are hoping to emulate the success of the Hawkins brothers and co.

The band, made up of Jordan Fennell, Ian Messenger, James Golder and Jon Lindow, released their debut LP - Eye of the Storm - this week, after signing for the 3Ms Music label in May.

Front man and guitarist Mr Fennell, 27, said getting the album completed was “a brilliant feeling”.

He said: “We are all incredibly excited to have it done. We recorded it over the space of a week and we are over the moon with how it turned out.

“We really went for it when we were recording - spending the best part of 10 hours in the studio every day.”

With the record now in the public domain, the band is shifting its focus to their live shows, hoping to embark on its first tour next year.

Mr Fennell added: “It’s funny, we’ve been a band for quite a few years and the album has been around two years in the making, but we’ve never properly toured.

“We’ve built our following online and through social media, so we are looking forward to hitting the road. We’re hoping to play in all the big cities - London, Manchester, Birmingham.”

One city the band will certainly be visiting is Norwich - with a gig at the Waterfront already lined up for December 16.

The band also have festival appearances scheduled for next summer, as they look to enjoy the same success as their fellow Lowestoft rockers.

The front man added: “The Darkness were the reason I learned to play the guitar. My dad always had one and tried to teach me, but when they came along, that is when I really got interested in playing.

“They have always been a huge influence on me.”

The band’s album is available to purchase through the 3MS label or on various online music outlets, including Amazon, Google Play and Apple Music.
