A seagull which had become tangled in netting on the side of a building was rescued by firefighters.

It was stuck above Tuttles Corner on Station Square, Lowestoft, for more than an hour before the fire service could free it.

The bird was struggling to free itself after getting a wing caught in the netting which is designed to stop birds like seagulls from nesting on the side of buildings.

The incident happened on Sunday, July 22, at 11.50am, with the fire service taking more than an hour to free the bird, not leaving the area until 1pm.

One crew from Lowestoft South attended the incident.
