Seven people have been injured following a four-vehicle crash in Lowestoft yesterday.
The collision happened at about 5pm in the area of Westwood Avenue and Long Road.
Fire crews from Gorleston, Beccles, Lowestoft South and Great Yarmouth attended the incident, and Long Road was closed for some time following the collision.
A Lowestoft police spokesman said that seven people required medical treatment and that most of those injured were taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.
The collision involved a Ford Focus, Ford Galaxy, Hyundai and Mercedes van. It is thought one of the vehicles may have rolled over.
A volunteer critical care paramedic from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) charity was sent to the crash scene, where they assessed six patients with crews from the East of England Ambulance Service, including a female patient who was trapped in her vehicle, and another female patient – in her thirties – for a neck injury.
The road closure caused disruption to traffic and motorists faced diversions.
