POLICE in Lowestoft have urged people to secure their sheds and garages following a series of burglaries.

From Wednesday, March 31 to Saturday, April 3, homes were targeted in Stradbroke Road, Hawthorn Avenue, Silverwood Close, Greenfield Road and Highland Way.

In Silverwood Close, three homes were targeted. At one, a red petrol scooter was stolen between 11pm on Wednesday, March 31 and 5.30am the next day.

A police spokesman said: “Police are again urging residents to secure their outbuildings, and equipment stored within, ideally fitting sheds with a relatively inexpensive alarm that will alert you to any break-ins and make it uncomfortable for any burglar.”

Call Lowestoft police on 01986 835300 with information. Anyone who notices suspicious behaviour should call 999.
