An eclectic mix of local talent has been confirmed for this year's Jungle Stage at Halesworth Gig in the Park.

Organisers have selected 11 bands to perform a blend of original and cover songs on the Jungle Stage, which showcases talent from the local area.

It will complement punk rock group The Undertones and pop band Showaddywaddy, who have been unveiled as the headline acts for this summer's event.

The festival is now in its 12th year and is being held in Halesworth's Town Park during the weekend of August 6 to 8.

Organisers of the Jungle Stage said the quality of acts that applied this year were outstanding, which made it tough to select 11 bands for each of the days. Jungle is the ever popular second stage at Gig in the Park with its unique vibe and jungle theme.

Friday night features the Fat Factory with live DJ sets from Crackerz and Jam, DJ Rainbow, Brummy and Paul Sparkes.

Saturday's atmosphere will be very lively with acts including rock band Serillian and Red Mecca, who play a range of old and new tracks.

On the Sunday the Mighty T More band will be on stage, alongside party group Funk Soul Brothers.

This year, the Jungle Stage will open later, to provide an alternative to the headline acts on the main stage. Music fans will already know that Baskery, Jon Allen and the Lee Vasey Band have also already been confirmed for the weekend.

Headliners The Undertones formed in 1976 and their hits include the anthem Teenage Kicks My Perfect Cousin and Jimmy Jimmy Supporting them on the Saturday night will be Baskery a Swedish acoustic country punk band that are making waves in the music industry and have already gained a slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival The 1970s pop group Showaddywaddy will headline on the Friday night. The popular group have enjoyed 10 top 10 singles including Under the Moon of Love .
