Man suspected of firearm offences among six arrests after early morning brawl

Six men have been arrested after an early morning brawl in Lowestoft.
Suffolk Police were called at 2.15am to reports of a disturbance at a property on Suffolk Road on Wednesday, July 3.
The incident initially began inside the property, then developed outside, officers said.
On arrival at the scene, police arrested four men, aged 23, 28, 33 and 37, on suspicion of affray.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, while a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of firearm offences.
All six were taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning, with 25-year-old Benjamin Elliott of Suffolk Road, Lowestoft, being charged with common assault, possession of cannabis, false imprisonment, and using violence to secure entry to a premises.

Elliott was remanded in custody to appear before Norwich Magistrates' Court this morning (Thursday, July 4).
The remaining five men were released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The 23-year-old was bailed until July 27, while the 28-year-old was bailed until the following day.
The 33-year-old and 37-year-old arrested on suspicion of affray have been bailed until July 29, along with the 23-year-old suspected of firearm offences.
A police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are on-going to the incident but all the indications at this stage are that this was a targeted incident where the individuals and victim are known to each other with no threat to the wider community."
