Women's Link - Thirty members enjoyed the informative talk given by Bob Coutts, head gardener at Somerleyton Hall, last Thursday evening. Bob explained when and how to prune shrubs, how and when to take cuttings, the best potting mediums to use, what plants can be grown for autumn colour and which fruits are available in the garden at this time of year.

The evening ended with a question and answer session. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 8 at 7.30pm in the village hall when Chris Brooks will be giving a talk entitled Peto's Lowestoft.
Duke's Head - Live music tonight at Club Uniquity from 8pm to 11pm in the barn at the Duke's Head. Barry Tyler's original Dixieland Jazz Band, better known as the Water Rats, will be playing at the Duke's Head from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, September 20.
Church services - This Sunday a service of holy communion will be held at 11am in St Mary's Church, Somerleyton and a special harvest festival evensong will be held in St Margaret's Church, Herringfleet at 6.30pm.
