Flower festival - The annual Somerleyton flower festival which took place on September 11, 12 and 13 once again proved most enjoyable and successful. The flower ladies certainly displayed their skills in interpreting the various aspects of the theme of life's journey and presented colourful arrangements with appropriate props.

Flower festival - The annual Somerleyton flower festival which took place on September 11, 12 and 13 once again proved most enjoyable and successful. The flower ladies certainly displayed their skills in interpreting the various aspects of the theme of life's journey and presented colourful arrangements with appropriate props. The many visitors were vocal in their praise and the hospitality marquee was well patronised. The festival songs of praise service proved a joyful occasion and the whole event raised �2,900 for church funds.

The next meeting of Women's Link takes place on Thursday, October 8, at 7.30pm, in the village hall when Chris Brooks will be giving a talk entitled Peto's Lowestoft.

Early autumn in Somerleyton always sees a special effort made to tidy the brick kiln area after the summer growth. To this end a working party will meet at 10am on Sunday. Volunteers will be very welcome to help with this ongoing conservation project.

Church services - On Sunday, a service of holy communion will be held at 11am in St Mary's Church, Somerleyton.
