The launch of the Southwold Arts Festival is just around the corner with a week of exciting and eclectic cultural events taking place throughout next week.

The festival will officially start with the Street Festival on Saturday, June 23, with events throughout the day at Market Place and High Street in Southwold.

From 11.45am there will be a sea-themed parade followed by the 2018 festival opening with patron Emma Freud officially launching the fifth Southwold Arts Festival.

Music and dancing from Lowestoft Longshoremen, the Ukes of Southwold, Daisy Armstrong, Nick Cope, St Felix Prep School Choir, the Bojangles Dancers, Suffolk School of Samba, Coppertone, Sole Bay Singers, and music from Cameron Mackintonsh's Mary Poppins Jr performed by Saint Felix School seniors with the final act at 5pm.

Wrentham Town Band will perform at the United Reformed Church at 2pm, with the sea costume fancy dress judging taking place at 12.30pm on South Green.
