On a cool morning in early September, but with only a few spots of rain, Geoff Salwey led nearly 20 members on a walk on or near Dunwich Forest. They started from the car park beside the Westleton to Dunwich road, following on circular route taking in Potten Hall and Sandy Lane Farm.

Ripening wild fruits, especially damsons, were well sampled on the way. Late flowers like heather and western gorse provided colour in an increasingly autumnal countryside. This walk ended with lunch at the White Horse by the pond on Westleton.
