A collection of archive films will be showcased as part of a special event.

Hidden histories and forgotten stories of people and places across Suffolk and Norfolk will be shown as 'Our Rural Life on Film' is screened at Southwold Arts Centre, St Edmunds Hall on Friday, February 9.

Produced by Creative Arts East as part of the BFI's Britain on Film project, it will be shown at 11am and 2pm with and optional fish and chip lunch at 12.45pm. Tickets cost £7.50 for films or £15 for films and fish – lunch must be booked in advance – available from Southwold Arts Centre and Southwold Library.

A Family History Course starts at Southwold Library from Monday, February 12, between 10am and noon. If you are interested in researching your family history, this six-week course – consisting of two hours a week – costs £50 (payment on registration).
