A fundraising fete and plant sale has helped to boost a popular library.

The Friends of Southwold Library (FoSL) organised the sale on North Green in Southwold – and an amazing turnout of people saw more than £600 raised.

A spokesman said: 'The Friends of Southwold Library would like to thank all of those who attended, helped at or donated to their fete and plant sale on Monday, May 26 on North Green, Southwold.

'Library manager, Charlotte Clark was amazed by the turnout bringing in £604.65, which will go towards the new children's library shelves and furniture recently purchased by the Friends group.'

The fun included gname the gnome, spade tombola, guess the number of seeds in the jar and pick a pot – with gardening books and lots of lovely plants on sale. The Friends of Southwold Library (FoSL) will holding a big book sale at the Scout Hall at Mights Road in Southwold, between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, July 21.
