A Suffolk school has raised more than £1,300 for a Southwold youth charity through a sponsored walk.
Pupils and staff from Saint Felix School in Southwold took part in the 27km walk along the Suffolk coast from Aldeburgh to Southwold on Friday, March 9.
Students were sponsored family and friends for their participation, raising a total of £1,307 for the Loft Youth Centre, which provides social sessions and workshops for young people in the town.
Headmaster of Saint Felix, James Harrison, said: “A key aspect of our school’s mission is to foster a sense of social responsibility in our pupils.
“The Founder’s Walk was a great opportunity to support a relevant local cause, whilst also discovering more about the history of the school and enjoying our beautiful location on the Suffolk coast.”
Loft Youth Centre manager, Keith Meldrum, said: “We are really grateful for the school’s support. As a registered independent charity, the Loft is always in need of funding to ensure continued provision of services and this amount will cover several months.”
