This coming Sunday, Palm Sunday, precedes the beginning of Holy Week at St Margaret's and the approach to the Easter Festival. Palm Sunday will begin with holy communion at 8am followed by sung eucharist at 10am. There will be a baptism service at 11.30am and the day will conclude with evensong and holy communion at 6.30pm. The First Sunday children's activities will take place in the Church Centre from 9.45 to 11.15am on the theme of Palm Sunday. The Traidcraft stall will also be open after the morning service in the Church Centre. The programme of services for Holy Week begins on Monday. There will be holy communion each morning at 8.30am and evening prayer at 6.30pm each evening until Thursday, when St Margaret's will celebrate Maundy Thursday with holy communion at 9.30am and 7.30pm. On Good Friday, April 10, three hours of devotion will begin at noon and will be conducted by the Rev Andrew Parsons and the Rev Terry Patient, of St Margaret's, Old Catton. There will be a Service of Light at 7.30pm on Easter Eve, Saturday, April 11. Services on Easter Day, Sunday, April 12, will begin with holy communion at 8am. At 10am the festival eucharist will include a performance of the Hallelujah Chorus and at 6.30pm there will be a choral evensong.
