A new group has formed to inspire the public to keep fit and make the most of an historic part of Lowestoft.
The ‘Lowestoft Scores Walk’ group meet every Saturday morning, between October and May, to wander around the town’s iconic alleyways.
Dick Houghton, of Lowestoft Town Council, set up the group and staged its first walk on Saturday, October 7.
He said: “Our main aim is one of fresh air and fitness. From our point of view we want to encourage as many people as we can to join in.”
The walks have shed light on the current condition of the scores, which have been hit by litter, weeds and vandalism.
Mr Houghton added: “The scores are a wonderful historic feature of the town that have over time become neglected.”
The group meet at 9am at the Whapload Road car park.
