A care home is set to begin running specialist sessions to assist people with early onset dementia.

Stradbroke Court, situated on Green Drive in Lowestoft, will unveil its very own memory cafe programme on Friday, January 19 at 2pm, in a special ceremony to be attended by Waveney MP Peter Aldous.

Cafes of this kind are designed to offer those suffering with dementia - as well as their families, carers and friends - a place to have an informal chat, cup of coffee and cake, whilst seeking advice, receiving support and participating in activities.

The sessions will be overseen by the home's care manager Dawn Bunter, who is a qualified dementia care coach with 20 years of dementia care experience, alongside a number of other specialist staff members.

Stradbroke Court will host its walk-in memory cafe events on the last Friday of every month in the home's day centre.
