Fundraisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which continues to raise money and awareness in aid of cancer charities and local deserving causes, have been boosted by two street collections.
Last Wednesday, September 13 the Team Lauren Lou cancer fundraising group held a street collection in Lowestoft town centre as funds were raised for Cancer Research UK.
With £201.54 raised in just three hours, Gary Bennett, of Team Lauren Lou, said: 'A table top sale and bucket collection was requested by Anglia TV, who wanted to film what we do in our local community. So we had to get an emergency street license kindly granted at short notice by Waveney District Council. A massive thank you goes to Lowestoft Vision who gave us permission again at short notice.'
A bucket collection and table top sale of merchandise also took place at Morrisons store in Beccles last Thursday, September 14 as £356.93 was raised for its cancer appeals fund.
