SIXTH Form students from Saint Felix School, Reydon, have been celebrating Body Image Week.

The event, organised by the students themselves, was arranged to enable the students to discuss body image concerns, views and opinions. Held at Saint Felix over the course of a week, a number of different activities took place, focussing on body image, dieting and health and beauty.

The group who organised the week also wore special t-shirts to promote the event.

Head of Sixth Form, Justine Ashford, said the week had been a great experience for all. “We live in a culture obsessed with celebrity and beauty, and young people can often feel pressurised into looking a certain way. We invited various speakers in during our Body Image Week to talk to the students about a number of issues, including inner beauty, alternative therapy and drug addiction.

“The students reacted fantastically, and it got us all talking about issues affecting both males and females,” she said.

A SAINT Felix pupil has been awarded first prize in the 'Junior Prose' competition at the Suffolk Festival.

Rosie Kelvey, from Year Six, was given the winner's trophy after her reading of City of the Beasts, by Isabel Allende.

In the prose competition, Rosie was marked on her style as she read out loud, the manner in which she held her book and the way she stood as she read her piece.
