TOP DOUBLE: Reflections on the water surface have landed one keen amateur photographer with a special double.

This photo of a Canada Goose, which was taken at Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Lackford Lakes reserve in Bury St Edmunds last week, has been chosen as the winner of our Picture of the Week competition.

And it has ensured a second win in our popular contest for Robert Quadling, of Kimberley Road. A delighted Mr Quadling said: “I was on holiday over the Easter week and as the weather was looking very good my wife and I decided to have a special day out and visit SWT Lackford Lakes.

When we arrived, the sun was out and there was no breeze on the lakes at all. I like photographing all wildlife and there was plenty on offer as I set out to capture reflections on the water surface – and conditions for this type of photo were perfect.”

After checking back his photographs later, this reflection of a Canada Goose particularly stood out – and so Mr Quadling entered our contest, and won! As our winner, Robert receives a 12in x 10in framed version of his photo, worth more than £60, from Picture Studios, of London Road North, Lowestoft.

By progressing to our next six-monthly winners’ final, he is also in with a shout of winning the top prize – a 12in x 18in photo block, worth £130. Entries can be of any subject, but they must be by amateur photographers and we prefer digital images.

We also accept prints but we cannot guarantee their return. Email us your pictures, along with your details and daytime phone number (and mobile number too if possible) to: lowestoft.journal@archant.co.uk putting Picture of the Week in the subject box.
