Members at the October meeting of the society were entertained and enlightened by a very interesting talk on Nelsons navy by Peter Cook. Peter's presentation gave a fascinating insight on little known facts surrounding Nelson; Emma Hamilton and the conditions of men and women in the Royal Navy. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 3 when June Marriage will give an illustrated talk on war memorials. The society meets every first Tuesday in the month at the United Reformed Church, London Road North, and has a programme of interesting speakers scheduled for the year. Doors are open at 7pm enabling members and non-members to browse the extensive library of CDs, books and publications available.
