The next meeting of the Lowestoft branch is on Monday at 1.45pm at the BT Social and Sports Club, Clapham Road South, when items on the agenda will include feedback from the Pensioners Parliament being attended at Blackpool by five members of the branch and future social outings being planned for the summer period. New members are welcome to just come along to sample a meeting which is a mixture of business and pleasure. An increase in membership at this time would make a fitting personal legacy to the memory of the late Jack Thain, who remained active for many years upon retirement from his engineering career to promote the Pensioners case at all levels. Latterly he endeavoured successfully to maintain the Lowestoft branch in particular and the new committee welcomes further support to carry his dearly held cause forward.
