Suffolk Police have confirmed that the death of a baby in Lowestoft earlier this month is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers were called by the ambulance service at 8.10am on Friday, December 1, to reports of a medical emergency involving a baby under six months old at an address in the north of the town.
The baby was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston by ambulance, but sadly died a short while later.
A police spokesman said today: 'The death is not being treated as suspicious and it appears to have been a tragic accident.'
A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
