A 51-year-old Suffolk man who raped a schoolgirl has been jailed for ten years.Christopher Carver was found guilty of two offences of rape, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, two offences of sexual assault and assault by penetration by a jury at Ipswich Crown Court and sentence had been adjourned until Tuesday .

Christopher Carver was found guilty of two offences of rape, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, two offences of sexual assault and assault by penetration by a jury at Ipswich Crown Court and sentence had been adjourned until Tuesday .
In addition to being jailed for ten years Carver, of The Firs, Uggeshall, was ordered to sign on the Sex Offenders' Register.
Sentencing him Judge John Holt said the offences related to three separate occasions when Carver had assaulted the girl. 'You must go to prison for a substantial period,' he said.
Andrew Thompson for Carver said his client had health problems and had no previous convictions.
