Residents at a Reydon home have enjoyed a demonstration of Chinese martial arts.

The Suffolk Tai Chi Academy's Southwold group visited Oaklands House residential home earlier this month.

The residents were interested in learning more about Tai Chi, including the health benefits, different styles and its history.

And several residents were happy to join in and have a go themselves at a mixture of the foundation exercises and some of the moves that the group demonstrated.

Residents learnt about Tai Chi's benefits and how the gentle exercises allows you to stretch muscles, tendons and ligaments in a natural way, creating a feeling of relaxation and providing several health benefits.

Sandra Saunders, manager of Oaklands House: 'Our residents really enjoyed getting to know more about Tai Chi and seeing the demonstrations take place. Several were very happy to have a go too, which was lovely to see. The relaxing music being played also helped in making it a very enjoyable afternoon, with many residents remarking on the afternoon. Thanks to the group for their time and energy.'
