WAVENEY District Council was surprised by the comments of the Lowestoft Together Board and we are grateful for subsequent, constructive discussions with them earlier this week.
It is the council's view that the information provided to Lowestoft Together was clear but, of course, we are disappointed if there was any misunderstanding and our discussions have sought to address this. I now hope we can put this matter behind us for the good of the communities we all support.
As for the charities themselves, the council enjoys good relations with them and work hard on their behalf. Additionally, it is clear, as a result of conversations this week, that they remain grateful for the support, financial or otherwise, they receive from Waveney District Council.
