Fundraisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which continues to raise money and awareness in aid of cancer charities and local causes, have been boosted by its first collection of the New Year.

On Tuesday, January 2 Team Lauren Lou held a street collection and tombola in Lowestoft town centre – raising £412.53 for its cancer appeals fund to help local people.

Gary Bennett, team leader from Lauren Lou, said: 'We can't thank Waveney District Council licensing and Lowestoft Vision enough for their kind permissions respectively.

'Thank you to all who kindly donated and thank you to my awesome, kind volunteers for standing out in the freezing cold to Stand up to Cancer.'
