A man riding a mountain bike indecently exposed himself to a teenage girl before grabbing her backside.

The sexual assault occurred between 11.30pm and 11.40pm last night (Sunday, June 16) between Foxborough Road and Weston Road in Lowestoft.

After parting company with a group of friends at the Aldi store on Millennium Way in Lowestoft, the victim - aged 17 - cut through Coniston Walk when she became aware of a man on a mountain bike cycling towards her.

As she continued onto Foxborough Road, he made suggestive comments towards her before exposing himself and committing an offensive act.

As the victim attempted to get away from the suspect by walking onto Crestview Drive and towards Weston Road, the man continued to follow her and then grabbed her backside.

She finally managed to get away from him by seeking help from a friend's house nearby.

The suspect is described as aged in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 8in tall, of skinny build and with a stubbly beard. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and riding a dark-coloured mountain bike.

Police are encouraging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the relevant roads to contact East CID at Lowestoft Police Station by calling 101, quoting reference 34736/19.

Alternatively you can provide an online update via the Suffolk police website or contact Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111 or via their online form.
