Four young athletes from The Ashley School in Lowestoft will be presented with a Suffolk County Council SportsAid scholarship by council leader Jeremy Pembroke next Monday.
The aspiring athletes - Chelsea Dixon, Holly Durbidge, Kimberley Aspland and Lewis Pryke - who are working towards selection for the 2012 Paralympics in London, have been selected for the Great Britain athletics team for an international event in April.
The scholarship of 1,500 will help them towards the cost of a trip to Sweden, where they will compete in the World Indoor Athletics Championships for athletes with a learning disability. The funding will also help with a trip to Croatia in July where they will represent Great Britain at the European Track and Field Championships.
