Police are appealing for witnesses after an altercation between two 15-year-old boys in Kirkley Run, Kirkley, at about 3.10pm on Friday, September 14.
One of the teenagers allegedly started shouting at the other one then approached and assaulted him.
The victim suffered a red mark and a sore ear.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed to return to police on October 27.
