Easterly winds are set to cause temperatures to further plummet across the region today.
Last night the coldest temperature recorded in the county was minus six degrees Celsius at Houghton Hall in north Norfolk meanwhile along the coast it was minus 5.2 degrees Celsius at Weybourne.
Richard Jones, a forecaster for UEA-based Weatherquest, said today temperatures would plummet further due to the wind.
He said: 'Really quite strong easterly winds across our region are the most notable aspect of today's weather as well as the thick-lying snow.
'We are not expecting too much in the way of fresh snowfall.'
He said he could not rule out a fresh dusting of snow across the county but said it was more likely to be the wind blowing the existing snow around rather than fresh snowfall.
'The wind is going to be the biggest issue,' he said.
He added temperatures could feel as low as minus 13 degrees Celsius at Tibenham and as low as minus 12 degrees Celsius at Marham when people were exposed to the wind.
He said the wind would also be gusting to up to 30 to 35mph inland and 40 to 45mph along the coast.
