Third crossing

WHILE I disagree with Graham Mills (Postbox, May 2) on the need for a third crossing I agree with him about the attacks being made on Waveney MP Bob Blizzard by the Waveney Conservative parliamentary candidate, Peter Aldous.

WHILE I disagree with Graham Mills (Postbox, May 2) on the need for a third crossing I agree with him about the attacks being made on Waveney MP Bob Blizzard by the Waveney Conservative parliamentary candidate, Peter Aldous.

Mr Aldous' response (May 16) to Mr Mills is another example of it.

I would not expect Mr Aldous to guarantee a third crossing but while promising to do his best he does not explain how he would perform better than Mr Blizzard.

I know that Mr Blizzard has been fighting, and continues to fight tirelessly, for the third crossing and made himself unpopular in some quarters.

As much as I disagree with the third crossing I accept that he is fighting hard for what he believes in because he cares for his constituency.

Mr Aldous must know that without the support of Suffolk County Council the third crossing will not happen.

My main criticism of Mr Blizzard is that as he cares about his constituency, and I know he supports less car use where appropriate in principle, I wish he would be pro-active in encouraging its benefits for Waveney.

Perhaps Mr Aldous would like to explain how he and a new Conservative government would do better than the present Labour government in sorting out the mess of our railways created by the previous Conservative government.
