Third crossing

WHY has it taken Waveney MP Bob Blizzard so long to get on board the third crossing project, which has been an on going battle for Lowestoft ratepayers for a great many number of years?

The traffic chaos is not a recent phenomenon in Lowestoft (I have lived here for 42 years) and I can only say things have got decidedly worse.

My husband is a Lowestoft man and he can remember his father saying that the third crossing was talked about when he was a lad and that he didn't think it would be built in his or my husband's lifetime.

As long as Lowestoft is at the mercy of those at Suffolk County Council and as long as they take the largest portion of the budget for their own agendas then Lowestoft ratepayers will always be at the back of the queue and will always be short changed.

Suffolk County Council has no intention of ever including our third crossing in their transport plan, so the sooner we get rid of the county council, the brighter Lowestoft's future will become. The likelihood that we will one day finally achieve our dream, in the not too distant future, will never be a reality if we remain with the county council.
