AN international theme park is giving Lowestoft's new female ambassador and her two attendants the chance to enjoy a special day out with all their friends.

Legoland Windsor is donating The Journal's Carnival Queen and her two runners up four tickets each to the park, where they can enjoy the variety of summer activities, as well as shows, rides and games.

Each ticket is worth 36, with the whole prize totalling nearly 450.

The search is still continuing for a girl to represent the newspaper and the town over the coming year and most prominently during the carnival procession on Sunday, August 9.

The selection process and crowning is taking place at the Marina Theatre, on Sunday, June 28, and many generous individuals and businesses have helped bring the prize money up to more than 1,500.

We are looking for housewives, single mums, students, married women and schoolgirls to put themselves forward for this coveted role.

The important thing is personality and judges will shortlist 20 girls from the entry forms we receive, based on the answers given to the eight questions on the coupon below.

If you're picked, you will be treated to a free photographic sitting at Picture Studios, our main prize sponsor, in London Road North.

These photos will appear in The Journal the week before the competition and after it is over Picture Studios will give the winning girl a makeover experience and professional modelling portfolio worth 350 and the two runners up a framed 12x10in photo of themselves.

Other prizes are beauty products for all three girls, courtesy of Baylis and Harding, a Guinot box, worth 100, from The Beauty Lounge, in Suffolk Road, and gift vouchers from Chadds Department Store and Match Clothing for the top three.

Pleasurewood Hills will reward each of the three girls with a pair of tickets to the park, the Hotel Victoria will treat the Carnival Queen to a meal for two in their Coast Restaurant, while the attendants get 25 each to spend on a bar meal.

Bella Blue is also donating a mystic tan to each of the girls and the winner also gets a set of acrylic nails.

On the night each contestant will be asked to bring an evening gown of her choice to wear and allocated a backstage dressing room. Make up will be done by two representatives from Clinique, at Boots, in Lowestoft.

Tickets, at 5, are on sale now at the Marina box office on 01502 533200.

To enter, simply fill in the entry form in today's Journal and attach a recent photograph of yourself.
