There is still time to register your act to take part in a charity entertainment evening to raise important funds for a young girl with cerebral palsy.

Staff at Adventure Island Play Park are busy piecing together the final plans for the event on Friday, April 10, which will help to fund an interactive mat for six-year old Daisy Newman.

All of the proceeds raised will go towards the Daisy Magic Carpet Appeal and acts are being urged to pledge their support with only a small £10 entry donation required.

Daisy, who cannot walk or talk, has poor hearing and vision and is unable to swallow- meaning she is fed food through a tube in her stomach.

The sensory mat will allow Daisy to communicate and bond with her sister, eight-year old Gracie, and will also allow Daisy to understand that her movements are causing something to happen.

With six variety acts already signed up, including singers, dangers and acoustic musicians, the crew are keen for more acts to enter the talent contest and for people to come and watch the show.

All of the acts will get to perform on a special stage, constructed by Scenic Projects, and will have the chance to win some top prizes.

The winning act will be treated to a short break donated by Kessingland Park Resorts, in a 6 berth accommodation with entertainment passes.

Additional prizes on the night include a Claude Butler Daisy Bike donated by Spoked Cycles and two tickets to Thorpe Park.

Anita Houchen, managing director of Adventure Island Play Park said:

'So far we have a great night planned and we have received fabulous support from businesses with the donation of prizes.

'We are looking for more acts to enter the talent contest and families to buy tickets to come along and help make this an evening which Daisy and her family will remember.

'The Newman's are a loving family and they dedicated every minute of every day to Daisy's welfare, because of her severe disability and individual needs.

'They juggle family life with their other daughter Gracie to give her quality time too.

'The two sisters adore one another; the family are amazing, though they see it as nothing out of the ordinary to manage what they do.

'We know that we can rely on the support of our customers and general public to make this night the success which Daisy and her family deserve.'

Daisy's parents Wayne and Jo Newman, who visited the fun park with their children earlier in the week, added: 'It means so much to us that people are willing to work so hard for Daisy. The 'Magic Carpet' that we hope to purchase will improve Daisy's ability to move unaided and to see her play independently will be wonderful.'

The evening of entertainment will also include face painting and a raffle.

Children will be able to play on the play equipment which is part of their admission donation of £5 per child- adults are free.

The evening of entertainment will start at 6.30pm and run until 9pm.
