An event celebrating a town’s rich history of engineering will be held next weekend.

Waves & Wheels is a celebration of the transport and engineering expertise of Lowestoft.

Taking place at The Ness, the UK's most easterly park, it is being held at the north end of Whapload Road on October 19.

The day will showcase the town's engineering prowess with buses, boats, a mini tank, boat builders, along with bikes, trikes and cars, and a vintage Lowestoft bus, courtesy of the East Anglia Transport Museum.

Movie Makers in Sparrows Nest will be showing original travel and transport films, with stalls and demonstrations from IBTC, Lings, Lowestoft Maritime Museum, Lowestoft Museum, Lowestoft Vintage Vehicle Club, Lowestoft War Memorial Museum, and photographs from SLP.

Blackshore Clothing on Whapload Road will house a special Michael Burwood art exhibition of trucks and lorries.

The Ness is a new park which will improve access, knowledge, participation and enjoyment of north Lowestoft and its unique maritime heritage.
