Treble winning Waveney Girls Under 14 Lionesses roar their way to success


The Lionesses are all smiles after securing a top treble.

Roaring to success, the Waveney Girls under 14 Lionesses finished the season unbeaten – and collected a hat trick of trophies in the process.

They won the Norfolk Women's and Girls Football U14 League title by winning 16 games and drawing the two other matches.

The Lionesses then followed this up by securing the double with a 3-0 victory in the league cup final after beating Martham.

And hitting the back of the net with a hat trick of successes, they completed a memorable season by beating East Bergholt 4-0 in the Suffolk U14 county cup final at Kirkley and Pakefield's Walmer Road ground.

A spokesman for the treble-winning Lionesses said: 'In the process they scored an incredible 110 goals and only conceded 14. Francesca Catchpole finished the season with an incredible goal tally of 63 and she scored a hat trick in the final.
