THE Lowestoft Record Office, based in the town's library, is holding a series of special events over the next few weeks.A two-hour workshop will be held next Thursday (April 22) at 2pm, entitled Who Were Your Ancestors?The event will offer ways of tracing your family history including parish registers, school records and cemetery registers.

A two-hour workshop will be held next Thursday (April 22) at 2pm, entitled Who Were Your Ancestors?
The event will offer ways of tracing your family history including parish registers, school records and cemetery registers.
The cost of the workshop, including an information pack, is �10.
Locals are being encouraged to take part in a walk around the historic farms and fields of Oulton and Camps Heath with Lowestoft historian Ivan Bunn as the walk leader? Meeting at Oulton this will be a moderate walk of about two miles, which will examine the history of the area.

On Sunday, May 2, between 11am and 1pm, a free event for all ages will be held. Locals are being invited to discover what happened on the day you were born, using newspaper archives on microfilm and online to discover the headlines for that special day.
