At the July committee meeting of the Lowestoft and Plaisir Twinning Association the members discussed their recent visit to their friends in Plaisir celebrating 30 years of twinning between the two towns and also outlined a possible programme for the visit of the French families to Lowestoft from July 9 to 14, 2010. These visits continue to foster wonderful friendships between families in the two towns, which from time to time enable educational and sporting links to be developed between individuals and groups. The Lowestoft Association will always welcome these kind of links, particularly between young people. The association has an excellent programme of activities most months and forthcoming ones include a visit to Southwold Summer Theatre on September 4, a quiz evening on October 2, and the annual Cheese and Wine Evening on November 13 when a guest speaker will provide photographs and music on Suffolk and the Suffolk Coast. If you wish to be involved with the preparation for next year's visit, perhaps hosting a family when the French friends come and stay with the Lowestoft friends (and then going over to Plaisir in 2011), the association would be delighted to welcome you joining them and coming along to the various events mentioned.
