Fire crews deal with two call-outs in quick succession

Firefighters were kept busy with two call-outs in quick succession.

Crews from Lowestoft South fire station were called out to assist police and then to a reported house fire all within the space of 30 minutes on Thursday, May 9.

One crew from Lowestoft South were alerted to assist the police in Ashburnham Way, Lowestoft at 4.42pm. The incident was soon dealt with and the scene cleared by 4.59pm.

Then at 5.17pm, a reported building fire saw two crews from Lowestoft South fire station attend property in Edgerton Road, Kirkley, but the incident was all over within a matter of minutes and the scene was cleared by 5.25pm.

The station Tweeted: "Another busy shift for #BlueWatch today.

"26wk assessment for FF McAvoy, ICL 1 drill for FF Alexander, Quarterly watch meeting with GC Field and then a couple of #FireCalls.

"Assist police and house fire, all in a days work."
