I have been cycling to work for several years, and yes, it has been hard work at times coping with all weathers and also some drivers giving cyclists no room nor respect.

I will admit that in the mornings at 7 I have used the bridge footpath along with many other cyclists at that time because of the amount of traffic and less pedestrians around.

I would also vote for another cycle route other than the only one we have at present which goes straight down London Road South to the Notleys' traffic lights and in-between cyclists have to manoeuvre from one side to the other outside Kentucky and then back again along by the garage and then again to the right hand side to cross the bridge … an accident waiting to happen.

When I finish work at 1pm I would love to bike all the way down the prom to enjoy the fresh sea air and wonderful sea views and with a little two way respect from pedestrians and cyclists alike it can work.

Of course there will always be the small minority that ruin it but with enough signs put up it could work and we would have a safer environment than the one we are having to deal with on the roads at the present.
