Latin dance fans have the chance to take lessons from the reigning UK Salsa champions then watch them show off their winning style in Norwich at the weekend.

Giovani Sanmicheli Rodriguez Alvarez and Maria del Pilar Aguirre, known as Sami and Pilar will be giving lessons throughout the day and evening on Saturday, not just in salsa but also bolero and boogaloo.

The pair will then perform their brand new show in Colombian-style salsa, a fast-paced energetic variation of the dance.

They will teach a daytime hour-long workshop in bolero, a slow dance described as the link between salsa and tango, at Keir Hardie Hall, St Gregory's Alley, at 12.30pm then a workshop in boogaloo, a latin rock and roll dance will take place at 1.30pm.

In the evening at the hall there will be a beginners salsa class at 7.30pm and Sami and Pilar will teach improvers from 8.15pm before they put on the kind of performance that earned them the UK champions title. A salsa club night to practise moves will continue until 12am.

Organiser Nad Naqvi said: 'This is a great chance to see salsa at its best and an unmissable opportunity to take lessons from the top performers in the UK.'

t The cost of one evening lesson plus the show and club night is 6 on the door. Daytime workshops will cost 7 each or 12 for both.
