Eight people have been charged following drugs raids in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft yesterday morning.

The cross-county raids targeted several homes in both towns.

In Lowestoft officers searched properties in the High Street, Marine Parade, Normanston Drive, St Peters Street and London Road South.

Dale Springer, 45 from the High Street, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He was charged on one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine and one count of conspiracy to supply heroin.

Carl Balls, 47 of Marine Parade, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, where he was later charged with one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine and one count of conspiracy to supply heroin.

A woman in her 30s from the Lowestoft area was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and has since been bailed until March 19 pending further enquiries.

Another man, Colin Owusu-Asokwa, 25, from London, was also arrested at the address on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs. He was later charged on one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine and one count of conspiracy to supply heroin.

Officers also searched an address in Normanston Drive, which led to the arrest of a man at a house in St Peters Street.

Anthony Jones, 59, from Normanston Drive, has been charged on one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine and one count of conspiracy to supply heroin.

Another man, Steven Alexander, aged 34 and of no fixed abode, was arrested in the Marine Parade area on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs. He was later charged on one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine, one count of conspiracy to supply heroin and three counts of theft.

Another search at a house in London Road South saw a man in his 40s arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug of class A. He has been bailed until April 23 pending furher enquiries.

In Great Yarmouth homes in Nelson Road North, Vincent Close in Cobholm and Middlegate were raided.

Paul Plumb, 41, from Nelson Road North, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and was later charged on one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine and one count of conspiracy to supply heroin.

Paul Brason, 31, from Vincent Close, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs. He was later charged with one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine and one count of conspiracy to supply heroin.

A man and a woman were arrested when officers broke down a door at a flat in Middlegate.

A man in his 40s and from Yarmouth was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug and taken in for questioning. He faces no further action.

Sarah Morris, 35, from Middlegate, was also arrested and later charged with one count of conspiracy to supply cocaine and one count of conspiracy to supply heroin.

All eight appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Crown Court on March 25.
