UPDATE: Power restored to Great Yarmouth after thunder storms hit Norfolk
Stormy weather has tonight (Wednesday) caused problems across Norfolk, with power cuts across Great Yarmouth and Norwich City's game against Real Zaragoza disrupted by floodlight failures.
At the end of a muggy day across the county, thunderstorms swept over the west of Norfolk just before 5pm before hitting Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
Fans heading for Norwich City's pre-season friendly against Spanish side Real Zaragoza got a soaking just before the 7.30pm kick-off and midway through the second half, shortly after lightning flashed across the sky, the floodlights went off.
The stadium was plunged into darkness for about 10 minutes before play resumed.
And there were major power cuts in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, just before 9pm. Traffic lights went out, while the Golden Mile was blacked out.

One witness said: 'There's been a massive power cut. I was driving back from Gorleston and all the traffic lights were out, so it was pretty dangerous.
'I was looking along the seafront and all the lights were out. People are just standing around not knowing what to do.'

There are also reports of power cuts in Lowestoft, Fritton, Hemsby, Caister-on-Sea, Winterton, Bradwell, Belton, Martham and Hemsby.
A spokeswoman for UK Power Networks said engineers had worked hard to get the power supply back on.
She said: 'UK Power Networks has restored power supplies to customers in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft who were affected by a power interruption at about 8.55pm this evening.
'The first customers had power again within 20 minutes with all supplies back on, in stages, by 10.18pm.
'We apologise for the inconvenience this caused and our engineers worked to reconnect all electricity supplies as soon as safely possible.'
At the Vue cinema in Norwich, the film fans watching Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 had the tension of the boy wizard's epic final battle drawn out a little longer after a power surge shut down the projector.
After about 20 minutes the film, whose hero has a lightning-bolt shaped scar, was up and running again.
