There are bound to be a few cyclists who will abuse the cycle lanes by speeding up and down the seafront. My biggest fear is young children who wander off the beach to get a drink or ice cream and also the older citizen not thinking, walking in front of an oncoming cyclist.
Suffolk County Council has now put in place a new cycle lane from Marine Parade up past Wellington Esplanade. It is only a few yards from the seafront and seems a waste of money if not used.
