THE funeral service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on September 17, for Valerie Anthony, who died aged 53, on September 7, after a brave battle with cancer.

THE funeral service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on September 17, for Valerie Anthony, who died aged 53, on September 7, after a brave battle with cancer.

The Rev Ian Bentley officiated.

Immediate family mourners were, Cathy Anthony and Clayton (daughter and partner), Robert Theobald (partner), Rhonda and Roy Deal (sister and brother-in-law), Michael Deal (nephew), David and Jill Munro (brother and sister-in-law), Rachel Munro (niece), Henry and Pat Munro (brother and sister-in-law), Janet and Reg Woodgate (sister and brother-in-law), Peter Woodgate (nephew), Rosina Woodgate (niece), Thomas Woodgate and Michelle Care, Annette Vincent (sister), Naomie and Katrina Brett (nieces), Brian Beasley (brother), Albert Munro (uncle), Carl and Lynn Theobald, Rob Anthony, Penny and Tom Wright, Chris Anthony.

Unable to attend: Rose and Ron Garrod (aunt and uncle), Mavis Tanton (aunt), Alan and Doreen Blyth (aunt and uncle).

Also present were many friends and colleagues too numerous to mention, but whose presence gave a real sense of comfort to Val's family.

Floral tributes were: In loving memory of a very special sister, you made us so proud Val - 'til we meet again, fondest love, Rhonda, Roy and Michael. Val, who will always be in my heart and thoughts, love Rachel. Val, a dear sister, you will remain in our hearts forever, love from brother David and Jill. God Bless you Valerie, rest in peace until we meet again, love you always, uncle Albert and uncle Ron and aunties Rose, Mai, Irene and Beryl. Thinking of you always with love from Annette and Naomie and co > and Katrina and co. With love, Clayton. Dear Val, thank you for you and our Katy, with love Rob. Cherished memories of a dear friend, Val - love from Richard and Ursula. Val, you will be dearly missed by all, you always helped when we needed you, thank you, love Rosina, Janet, Reg, Thomas, Jason, Tamsin, Michelle, Dylan, Wayne and baby Luke, Peter and Ivan, Brian.

Val requested that any donations in lieu of flowers go to the Friends of Beccles Hospital, c/o Rosedale Funeral Home, 63 Victoria Road, Diss, IP22 4JE.
