A man was flown to hospital by air ambulance after the van he was driving crashed into a tree in Halesworth.The crash happened at about 1.15pm today near the level crossing on Bramfield Road between Halesworth and Bramfield.

Fire crews were called to free the driver, who was trapped inside the red Ford transit van.
The man was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

A spokesman said the man's injuries were believed to be potentially serious.
Police who were called to the scene reported that his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
