A CAR driving on the A146 at Beccles was struck by a piece of timber that had come loose from a trailer this afternoon.Police are appealing for the driver of the 4x4 vehicle that was towing the trailer to come forward after the incident.

It took place about halfway between the George Westwood Way roundabout and the Marsh Lane Worlingham roundabout around 12.20pm.
A grey Honda CRV being driven towards Lowestoft was struck by the 2ft piece of timber that had come loose from the trailer.

Fortunately no one was hurt but damage was caused to the Honda.
Police need to trace the driver of the 4x4 and are asking him or her to come forward.
